Hyderabad: Former minister and BRS MLA Harish Rao on Monday reacted sharply on the decision of the State government to remove part-time teachers working in gurukuls across the State from their duties. He said it was heartening to note that the students of the residential schools were clenching their fists to bring back the faculty which was sacked from the gurukul schools in Gowlidoddi.

Harish Rao said it was unfortunate that the Revanth Reddy government had made the students who were supposed to indulge in the celebrations of felicitating their gurus on Teachers' Day to drop out of their studies and go on dharnas.

“It is commendable that the students of gurukuls are clenching their fists in support of their gurus. It is a vicious act to remove the teachers of the Gurukul Centre of Excellence who stood by the students to secure ranks in national level examinations like IITs, NITs and NEET,” he said.

“Thousands of students today are worried because of the State government’s decision to sack 6,200 gurukul teachers in the middle of the academic year,” he said, and demanded that the government should immediately reinstate the gurukul teachers who have been sacked from their jobs and save the future of the students. He asked the CM as to what he would answer to parents who dreamt about the future of their children?
